What the fu*k is You Have Impact?
This is for people that like to run and / or read (or don’t know that about themselves yet), think about big and little stuff, be fitter, better, kinder, and most importantly happier. It’s for those that want to understand happiness and live with greater impact, no matter who you are now, or where you’ve come from.
If you know anyone that fits that bill - get them involved, the more of us the better. It feels spiritual, but not in a tree-hugging wa*ker kind of way, it’s more from a realisation that we can all choose to be happy and feel alive.
Once a month (at the very least), you will receive an email, covering the above topics, ish. Sometimes the content comes from leftfield, but as a good therapist may say; it helps to write this shit down.
Running and fitness, at a seriously amateur and painful level, is the thing that helps many of us battle through mental minefields of misery-avoidance. But, you do not have to be a runner to enjoy this, although the content may help you get out there more and burn off that beer, vino, burger, ice cream, or weekend of drug abuse and come-down pizzas - whatever your fancy is, there is no judgement here, thank fuck.
On the blog, or in the emails… You will never be retargeted and advertised to with media banners, your data will not be passed on to third parties, and your stories will not be shared for ‘likes’ on social media. This is a legitimate email and blog trying to help us all be stronger and have a more positive take on life, though the tough and great times we encounter.
On occasion, where we believe a brand or partner can add some real value, we will allow them the odd mention or link.

If you can impact your own happiness first, you’ll be in a better place to help others.
“Happy is a simple thing to find, you just need to know where to look”
When discovering something that makes you happy, if you need to stop and take a photo for Insta, you’re missing the darn point! You wouldn't (or shouldn't!) break in the middle of a running race, it’s too good an experience to ruin.
Happy is only in that moment - make the most of it. Trying to cling on to past memories with constant photos, gets in the way of enjoying the now (that's also what makes you fear things, thinking too much about the past).
Becoming happy is a path to letting go, and embracing every second of life, especially the crap ones.

The only control of happy, is you. If you can let go of ‘want’, you can start to understand how to feel lifted.
Once you’ve found happiness and you really understand what that means, then you can enjoy what you've earned. It’s that simple. You will not enjoy ‘things’ unless you’re happy in the first place. Fact.

You are amazing, but you (like all of us) struggle inside because there’s too much negative shit in there. But guess what? It’s your head, it’s your emotions, it’s your world!
Breathe, relax, think of nothing but pure energy and joy - you don’t even have to remove what’s bringing us down, it doesn't exist in the first place.
We need tools and training to find happiness, just like we need guidance and training to run faster. Running gives a clearer path towards being happy, it helps us realise there are no problems, just opportunities.

You Have Impact provides free content for people that want to grow and be happy. Written by weekend-runners that understand the pain, joy, and benefits of doing things to feel good about life (but don’t always get it right, far from it).

People are a summation of where we choose to spend our time, who with, and what we do. Everything has an impact; if you read and understand motivational words, you stand a better chance of doing good things, for yourself and those around you. This is written to help us get what we want in life.

After yourself, if you then motivate one person to be healthier, you have won in life. All else is a bonus.

But what the fu*k is there to be afraid of?
Is it the impact of pain, effort, failing, or being successful that scares us?
What is Impacting Your Motivation?
Laziness is a mental challenge, not physical. We all place past experiences in the way, allowing them to be the pebbles and rocks at the bottom of our energy streams that cause chaos. But guess what? It’s your fuc*king stream, you can pick up the rocks, throw them out, and be left with a pure and clean running flow towards greatness.
It really is that simple.
If you have a dodgy knee, sore throat, or an extra layer of fat to carry around that impacts you, then it’s easy to allow that in as an excuse, same goes for being tired; the TV, sofa, fridge, or stereo is an easier option to find a happy moment.
When we realise that happiness comes from inside, having clear minds (and souls, but that's a deeper topic), we can start to see why exercise is key for most of us to live amazing lives.
Exercise can come in many forms though, it doesn't have to be savage, or even physical - it’s unique for everyone, and is here for us all to find clarity.
So motivation isn't about being shouted at, pushed, dragged and forced to run or suffer. Our daily dose of inspiration comes from understanding why health matters, and putting that above everything else.
Here's what helps most (but not all) days:

You Have Impact on Everyone’s Time, Especially Yours.
Time is the deepest subject, it’s a struggle to wrap our heads around what it means.

It is not the time we have that’s important, it’s how we use it. The cliches are real, every minute is precious, we can learn to enjoy them all, the good and the bad ones!
Surrendering to the moment is the trick, then, no matter what is thrown at us, it’s all the same, we can love every second. You run, so you understand enjoyment can come from all kinds of places.
What Impacts Your Time?
Running, walking, jumping, working, washing-up, crying, laughing… How do we deal with it all? How do we make everything as good as the best times in life?
The majority of us think; Fuck, meditation, yoga, and all the inner-calm activities feel too fluffy. It's not that the aim isn't appreciated, but maybe people don’t feel comfortable enough to dive in, or maybe it’s something most have never understood.
One version, which helps many sceptics make more of time, and get off their arse's to go for a run is this:

Find yourself, realise you’re in there, and that you’re not not built from the distractions around you

Talk with yourself, about how there is no end goal, just what's happening right now

Smile, think of what counts, think of how to love someone or something

Start a little exercise, see where it goes
Yeah yeah yeah, I get this sounds like odd and fluffy meditation too, but for many cantankerous or tired fools that struggle through life, doing sh*t like this every now and again, in the comfort of their own mind, really does help.
It gets you running more, adding energy and motivation to your day.
Life is tough, it’s a constant battle to push out the bad and make more from our time. But, you can help yourself and those around you to be a little more open to happiness, and the steps required to be there.
That’s how you can make more from the time we have.
You Have Impact is Easy!

Damn, we all want an easier life, but as a runner, you know that easy doesn't always get you to the finish line.
Yes, thankfully, we have moments where we must take it easy. In all walks of life, we need time to rest, recover, and walk before we run.
The Impact of Taking It Easy:
Today, most people do not not want to go jogging, they have no energy, enthusiasm, or lust for life. They want to sit on the sofa and have an easy day. We’ve all been there before though, we know that type of easy day just makes life harder in the long run.
So, here’s how to start the process when you’re feeling really fucking lazy:

Get dressed into gym gear

Drink water

Just start, with 10 calf raises, the easiest of exercise that took no effort

Wait a few minutes

Do 10 squats, had a smaller rest, do 10 more

Wait a few more minutes

Do 10 squats, had a smaller rest, do 10 more

You’ll start to feel a little better, just a little

Set a goal, of just doing a 1 mile jog, take it slow, that’s enough, it’s better than nothing

Decide to see how it goes when out there - wow, it’ll turn out to be a very gentle 5km. Finish happy and delighted with yourself.
It is in fact, easy, there is no pressure to hurt yourself, there is no dread after each step. If you take my foot away from the gas, and just relax into a workout, you’ll enjoy every foot in front of the other, one at a time.
It’s easy, and it will make you feel great.
It’s always easier and more rewarding than we think, no matter how bad, tired, or lazy you feel today, make this the day to take a small first step, see where it goes. It’s that easy.
It'll also help you eat better today (not like a total pig anyway!). Plus, work will be a little easier too.
All because of 10 little calf raises. Boom.

The biggest problem in society is the desire to be rich. Being rich is fine, even great, it could bring plenty of joy to you and your loved ones. It’s when people are driven by the thought of money where it all goes wrong.
Understanding You Have Impact, and many similar views or philosophies, can help you be rich, in terms of a bank balance AND total satisfaction for all moments in life, which is by far the better of the two.
Wealth will follow, and be enjoyed, once we wrap our beautiful minds around what being happy means and how to achieve it.
Let’s start with asking ourselves:

When we look at our own purpose, we can work out how to get on a path to finding both kinds of wealth.
Ask any rich person - being loaded is NOT a path to being happy. But being happy, then creating wealth is one heck of a decent option.
There’s no point having money, if that’s your only goal, you will not find a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.
You should always believe in you, as we are all incredible, now go and believe in yourself. Find your way to riches.
In regards to running, health and mental exercise - it’s not rocket science to understand that time is the only currency worth saving. And well-being is the only way to start that account.
